Recently two schools in Ensenada, Mexico were visited by tons of Rotarians from District 5500.

Four busloads totaling 140 Rotarians descended upon two Ensenada schools last week to team up with Rotary clubs from Ensenada to plant trees and paint. I'm not sure of the numbers at the Kindergarten school but at the middle school, we planted 40+ trees and painted the face of the school in about two hours. We also brought school supplies such as books, pencils, calculators, paper etc. The kids who attended the school were also there to help and seemed gracious we were there. They got in and got dirty like the rest of us. Then the Rotarians were taken by bus to a park and were treated to a Mexican lunch they prepared called Paella which they served with red wine and other beverages. What a great District Conference this was to combine a service project in Mexico with a cruise! I think Dave Hossler calls this a Two-Fer!
