The end of the year is upon us and all of Fort Yuma's hard work is finally paying off.

For some Fort Yumans, this is their favorite time of the year. To see where those long days setting up for the Mardi Gras, Golf-A-Thon and other fundraisers are finally paying off. Fort Yuma typically gives away $25,000-$30,000 per year in various donations to the community. Each year there is a little different list but we always have our favorites. For the rest of June we will be handing out more and more money each Thursday. Last Thursday we gave $500 each to Planned Pethood, Southwest AZ Stand Down, AZ Children's KARE Center, and AZ Children's Foster Care Center. The big one for the day was a check or $4,000 to Paul Evancho (pictured left) and the AZ Child Burn Survivors Camp. On a side note, give Robin Finn a pat on the back when you see her because she is spending this week as a Counselor at Camp Courage, which I'm sure is not an easy task.
